About Me

I'm a fifth-year Ph.D. student in Computer Science at University of Illinois (CS @ Illinois), working with Prof. Aditya Parameswaran. My research interest lies in Databases specifically, in Big Data Analytics — designing algorithms and developing tools that facilitate interactive exploration and analysis of large datasets. In addition, I am interested in understanding and modeling user interaction with visualization tools to enable effective data analytics. I obtained my Masters in Computer Science from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology under the supervision of Prof. Md. Monirul Islam with my thesis topic being “Classification of Multi-label Data Streams”. I also received my Bachelors degree from the same university.

  • August 31, 2017. Presented our paper on incrementally improving visualizations and related interface at VLDB 2017. Next up, poster session.

  • August 26, 2017. Attending VLDB 2017@Munich, Germany. Will be presenting our paper IncVisage in a few days time.

  • May 22, 2017. Started my Summer Internship at Yahoo! Champaign (now Oath:).

  • May 16-18, 2017. Attended SIGMOD 2017@Chicago. Lots of cool work. Icing on the cake was the keynote speech on AQP — totally aligns with my research focus.

  • May 16, 2017. Our paper on faster analysis of large datasets that couples incremental sampling with intelligent feautre surfacing methods has been accepted to VLDB 2017. Paper here.
